The Foundation

In 1974 the Indore zoo was established in Navlakha area in only 17 acres land, later on in the year 1999 adjoining 32 acres land of Quadibag was "Acquired" by the zoo so present area of Indore zoo is 51 acres. 

The Proposal

The zoo was envisioned as a conservation and educational hub under the recognition of the Central Zoo Authority. It has since grown into a modern zoological park focusing on the protection, reproduction, and exhibition of a diverse range of animal and plant species

The Start

From its inception, the zoo began housing animals such as Indian elephants, Bengal tigers, leopards, and crocodiles. Over time, the zoo integrated technological advancements like online ticket booking and touchless entry systems, making it one of the most advanced zoos in India​

Upcoming

The zoo aims to enhance its wildlife conservation efforts while continuing its educational and recreational programs. There are plans to introduce new enclosures and species, as well as expanding interactive and cultural activities to engage visitors​
